The World Bank on Wednesday described Edo State as the best in Nigeria in terms of transparency, openness, candour and value for money.
Dr. Amos Abu, the Task Team Leader of the World Bank, disclosed this when he led other members of his team to pay Governor Adams Oshiomhole, a courtesy visit.
The World Bank commended Governor Adams Oshiomhole for paying over N1billion counterpart fund, which it said qualified the state to enjoy its projects and other incentives.he team task leader said they came to the state to inspect ongoing erosion control projects in Auchi, Queen Ede and Ekenwa. According to Dr. Abu, the bank has not receive any single complain of political interference from the state, describing it as very unique.
He added that the implication of the action was that the consultants and contractors were looking at the body language of the governor.
