FULANI MASSACRE IN BIAFRA LAND: MASSOB EXPLODES, THREATENS BUHARI (FULL DETAILS)
President Muhammadu Buhari has been issued a fresh threat over the
unending attacks by the Fulani herdsmen on Nigeria’s south eastern state
of Enugu. This threat was made by the Movement for the Actualisation of
the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) via a press statement signed by
the group’s national director of information, Sunny Okoreafor.
Vanguard reports that the incessant
attacks by Fulani herdsmen in some states of the federation have
prompted the pro-Biafra group to give President Buhari a 30-day
ultimatum to end the attack on innocent Nigerians or face its wrath.
“MASSOB is worried that Fulani
herdsmen have become very daring in their attacks since President Buhari
came to power. We are not saying Buhari is their sponsor, but his
silence over the attacks is suspicious. MASSOB is giving Buhari 30 days
ultimatum to stop the attacks or face our wrath.
“Again, we are warning Fulani
herdsmen and their sponsors to withdraw from Biafra land. They should
count Igbo land out of their Islamization policy. We are also warning
Ndigbo to remain at alert as these Fulani herdsmen are terrorists posing
as herdsmen. Soon, they will pay for all their atrocities against the
people of Biafra,” the statement read.
The group’s spokesperson also
disclosed that they have set up a committee to monitor the activities of
Fulani herdsmen in Igbo land, adding that their non-violent policy will
soon be neglected to protect Biafrans if the federal government refuses
to check the menace by the herdsmen. Speaking also on the issue is
Junaid Mohammed, a second republic lawmaker of the coalition of northern
politicians. In an interview with The Sun, Mohammed also expressed his
opinion about the political appointments made by President Muhamnadu
Buhari so far and the impasse around the budget.
“As far as I am concerned, if a
government has the political will to solve a problem, and that will and
attitude towards any political problem is perhaps a reflection of the
attitude of the elite themselves, that problem can be solved. The
central issue here is having the political will,” he said.
