Some so called pastors are being made to pay for their evil acts after they were found out to have defrauded a woman.
The three self-proclaimed pastors, Ekpo
Michael, 55, Charles Michael, 54 and Napoleon Ohaegbu, 52, allegedly
obtained N26,000 under the guise of performing miracles.
They were, yesterday, docked before an Igbosere Magis-trate’s Court, Lagos.
According to Vanguard, the accused,
whose addresses were not given, are facing trial on a three-count charge
of conspiracy, obtaining by false pretence and stealing.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Kingsley
Jackson, told the court that the accused conspired and committed the
offences on July 19, at 2p.m., at Ikate in Lekki Phase 1, at Eti-Osa,
Lagos.
Jackson alleged that the accused falsely
presented themselves to one Chioma Okorie under the guise of being
Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, pastors and obtained N26,000
from her.
He said the accused falsely told Okorie that there was a cowry in her womb.
He said: “The accused brought out an egg and performed a magic, broke the egg, and a cowry appeared.
“The accused, however, collected N26,000 from her.”
He said the offences contravened Sections 409, 312 (1) and 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused persons pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to them.
The magistrate, Mr. P. A. Adekomaya
granted them N50,000 bail each, with one surety each in like sum and
adjourned till August 8.
