A church in the United State, First
Cannabis Church of Logic & Reason located in Michigan has revealed
that marijuana users are free to attend their service and
smoke marijuana while the sermon is going on. The pastor of the
church, Jeremy Hall said he careless about the rules of marijuana use
and the door of the church is opened to all.
‘What I’m hoping to accomplish in the
long run is to provide a place where people can be spiritual, but can
also feel safe to take any of their medication,’ Jeremy told Lansing
State Journal. ‘If they also feel cannabis is part of their
spirituality, they can combine the two in a safe environment.’
Hall feels marijuana can be part of a
‘religious experience,’ of sorts. ‘It can help people in pain and create
a sense of belonging.
You are consuming
something that is breaking down all these preconceived notions and
barriers and provides an outpouring of love.’
The Lansing State Journal reports that
Hall encourages medical marijuana users and non-users to visit the place
of worship. Although he expected about 40 people to show up to the
first service and approximately 50 showed up.
According to Hall, Lansing is the
perfect place for the church since it has shown support for medical
marijuana use and dispensaries.
Remember Michigan voters approved marijuana use for some chronic medical conditions in 2008.
Since the service would be held on private property, Hall does not expect any problems or abuse of city rules and regulations.
