Nigerian televangelist, Prophet T. B. Joshua, was on Saturday derided
by the President of Malawi, Peter Mutharika, as an unscrupulous
individual, who raises money through false prophecies.
In an angry response to speculations that he has serious health issues and was dying, thus a need to resign from office ahead of the end of his term in 2019, the 76-year-old Mutharika said, “Some people want to chase me away, they want me to resign so that they can take over the government through the back door because they know they will not defeat me at the ballot box in 2019. Let me tell you, am not going anywhere, am not resigning.”
Mutharika challenged the Lagos-based Prophet that if he were really a man of God, he should have predicted the collapse of a building on his premises, where at least 90 people died, many of them South Africans.
