SO SAD!! Armed Robber Crushed To Death While Raiding Passengers In Lagos (Graphic Photos)
A man, suspected to be a robber was at
the weekend reportedly crushed to death as he attacked some bus
passengers in Lagos State, Daily post reports.
The unnamed suspect was crushed to death by a truck at the Ojo Lowo bus stop in the Ijanikin area of the state.
At about 10.30pm on Saturday, the
suspect, along with other hoodlums, had waylaid bus passengers and while
the robbery was on, a police patrol team from the Ijanikin division
came to the area, and the robbers took to their heels.
However, in the process of trying to
evade arrest, an oncoming truck crushed the suspect and he died on the
spot, the Punch gathered.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations
Officer, PPRO, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirming the incident said effort is
on to arrest other suspects and to recover their arms.The PPRO said the
affected motorists alerted the police about the robbery operation via a
distress call.
“His corpse has been deposited in the Badagry General Hospital morgue for an autopsy,” the PPRO stated.
Meanwhile, while other members of the gang fled the scene, apart from the deceased, another hoodlum, identified as Bassey Eyo, was arrested by the police.Eyo, 22, his gang members were reportedly notorious for traffic robbery in the area.
