Mandoza had battled skin cancer, for which he got treatment for, and he was thought to have been cancer free.
Unfortunately, the cancer recurred, and a few weeks ago we learned that he had brain cancer.
Mandoza performed at the Thank You SABC music concert at Orlando Stadium in Soweto, where he thanked his fans for the love and support for him and his family during this difficult time.We all had hope that he would pull through this, but today came with devastating news. We all learned that Mandoza lost his battle . . . and all we could think about is his wife Mpho and their children. Love, prayers and strength, to them, as they go through this very difficult time.
I will personally remember Mandoza for his hit Nkalakatha, which broke all racial barriers and made us know and respect the musical genius that he was.
